Or Ha Lev (Light of the Heart) was established in 2011 as the only Jewish Renewal-affiliated congregation in Northern New Jersey. Currently located in Succasunna, NJ, our twin missions are —

​

• engagement with Judaism and Jewish spirituality, and

• the practice of “Deep Ecumenism” (meaningful interfaith relationships).

 

At Or Ha Lev, we welcome all who wish to worship, to participate in social action activities, and/or to attend lifelong learning classes.

 

We welcome everyone: those who may be affiliated with other congregations, the unaffiliated, those seeking a spiritual path; individuals, couples, families with children. We welcome interfaith families and are a LGBTQ-welcoming community. Our in-person meeting facilities are HP-accessible.

 

Creative worship services are enhanced by live music, meditation and lively Torah discussions. We celebrate Jewish holidays together and meet on Zoom for weekly Sunday morning study sessions and monthly book group meetings. Or Ha Lev also has monthly Saturday evening Zoom programs with Havdalah services to mark the end of Shabbat. We often collaborate with area churches and mosques on social action and study projects.

 

Membership also provides an opportunity to be involved in an active community that encourages participation and invites our members to step into community leadership roles.
